The Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade Conference is being staged again in 2025 and will take place in Dubai on February 18th. The event, which has built up a global reputation, is expected to attract over 300 attendees from different industry sectors who will participate in a one-day conference at the Taj Exotica hotel on the Palm, which proved to be a highly popular venue when the conference was held there for the first time in 2024.

Aimed at influential decision makers and opinion formers in the shipping, ports, ship finance, maritime law, insurance, shipbroking and trade related business sectors, among others, the Conference will this year have the overall theme of “Financing green shipping solutions.” The event will focus on developing innovative financial solutions that can help unlock barriers to sustainable growth within the shipping, ports and maritime sectors, and assess how various stakeholders can more effectively collaborate to help achieve the green transition in an effective and financially viable way.

This year there will be particularly strong coverage of financing the development of vessels operating on alternative fuels, both for newbuildings and through retrofitting, and the drive to achieve greater energy efficiency within ship and port operations. Funding the technology of the future will also be a key theme.

For 2025 there will be a new format with front line speakers being joined after their presentations by expert panelists for an energising and engrossing discussion and Q&A with audience members.

The day after the Ship Finance and Trade Conference, on February 19th, TMS will stage its always popular annual Golf Day in Dubai. Many of the attendees at the Conference will be taking part in this fun and enjoyable event for all abilities, which also offers plenty of scope for networking.
