On behalf of the Palliative Care Congress Belfast 2025 committee, we are delighted to announce the launch of our conference theme – Looking Back, Moving Forwards.

The field of palliative care has come a long way since its inception. Challenges within palliative care such as accessibility, funding, novel demands and ways of working, as well as long-term sustainability, are growing and expanding at an ever-increasing rate and we need to take hold of these. Therefore, we are delighted to be presenting a programme both to reflect on where we have come from, and to look to the future of our field, exploring current challenges, future priorities and ways of working, and giving space to grapple with where our field should go next.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, we truly believe that “the best way to predict the future is to create it” and we hope that PCC 2025 gives you the passion, enthusiasm and opportunity to shape your own future within palliative care.
