Description

The Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics XI (NPA-XI) conference brings together scientists working in nuclear astrophysics, including laboratory experiments, theoretical nuclear physics, astronomy, and astrophysics.

NPA-XI is part of a series of conferences taking place every two years, under the auspices of the Nuclear Physics Division of the European Physical Society.

NPA-XI will take place from 15 – 20 September 2024 at TU Dresden, Germany. The conference will be preceded by a scientific school, the NPA-XI school, in the week of 8-13 September.

The Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics XI (NPA XI) conference addresses the field of nuclear astrophysics as a whole. Scientific topics include:

  • Cosmology and Big Bang
  • Early stars and galaxies
  • Hydrostatic stellar burning
  • Explosive processes, jets, g-ray bursts
  • Cosmochemistry
  • p-, n-, rp-process nucleosynthesis
  • Neutron stars, mergers, gravitational waves
  • Astrophysical s-process
  • Astrophysical r- and i-processes
  • New tools and techniques, data formats, and open access
