Scripps Health’s Primary Care Summer Conference is designed for primary care physicians and the interdisciplinary care team, offering a unique perspective on various therapeutic areas. This CME conference aims to enhance patient outcomes in primary care by providing practical, patient-focused content. Attendees will gain insights into the history and current science of multiple specialties, tailored to address the specific challenges of primary care practices and physician leaders.
Educational Objectives
After attending live activity, participants should be able to:
- Incorporate current trends in preventive health care into patient care strategies.
- Effectively communicate with patients about their individual responsibilities in both prevention and treatment.
- Identify and/or suggest resources for both physicians and patients to obtain further information relevant to various therapeutic areas.
- Adopt innovative interdisciplinary care team strategies to enhance the prevention, diagnosis, and management of various medical conditions encountered in office practice.
- Recognize and address health disparities that may adversely affect patient care during clinical encounters.
- Oversee the specialist referral process: evaluate when a referral is necessary, understand the components of specialized treatment, and define the primary care physician’s role in coordinated care and follow-up.
